What can I expect during the free consultation?

Paralegals are licensed to offer services in limited areas of the law. A free consultation allows us at Townes Paralegal Services to asses if we are the best fit for your legal needs.

 

Most Consultations are from 20 to 40 min;

We do not specify the time limit for the consultation as we do not want to rush you. 


Personal questions;

We need to collect personal information to perform a conflict check and verify identities.


Story telling;

We want to hear what we can help with. Be ready to chat!


Options;

We will present your options to you and determine if your case is a good fit for us.  If we cannot help you, we will do our best to point you in the right direction.

What is the next step after the consultation?

If Townes Paralegal Services takes you on as a client, we will schedule you a follow up appointment that will be charged. The follow up appointment is $150. During this appointment we will present you with your legal options, next steps, and the quote for the required services.

What is your Billing Policy?

Townes Paralegal Services charges on a flat rate or hourly basis depending on your need. This means that you will be presented with a quote before commencing any action on your behalf. In the case of flat-rate billing, you will be provided with the bill after services have been rendered. 


Please note that if there are material changes in the services rendered there may be additional charges. If this occurs you will be informed before any charges are incurred. 


We accept all major credit cards and e-transfer.

Is it safe to hire a Paralegal?

Yes, both Paralegals and Lawyers must pass compressive testing administered by the Law Society, must have practice insurance and are bound to keep your information confidential. Lawyers and Paralegal both answer to the Law Society of Ontario.

What can a Paralegal do?

A Paralegal is licensed to provide Legal Services in specified areas of Law. These services include but are not limited to:

  • Giving a person advice with respect to their legal interests, rights or responsibilities
  • Selecting, drafting, completing or revising a document that affects a person’s interests or rights
  • Representing a person’s interests or rights before a court or tribunal
  • Negotiating the legal interests, rights or responsibilities of a person.
